Keen to avoid common ethical pitfalls such as plagiarism or data falsification? Curious about the principles of academic integrity? This webinar explores the fundamentals of good research practice, provides guidelines for maintaining integrity, and highlights the importance of trust and credibility in academia.

Who should participate?

This webinar is designed primarily for early-career researchers, but anyone interested in research and scholarly communication is also welcome.

What topics will be covered?

Academic integrity is crucial for ensuring the trustworthiness, reliability, and reputation of science. This webinar introduces key ethical concepts as well as practical tips on how to deal with common dilemmas related to data management, authorship, or the use of AI. Key topics to be discussed:

  • Principles of good research practice
  • What is scientific misconduct and how to avoid it
  • Research ethics: what to keep in mind when designing and/or working on a research project
  • Publication ethics: what to keep in mind when publishing an article
  • Useful resources (codes of ethics, ombuds-offices at Czech institutions)

The webinar will be conducted using ZOOM software.
